I have to say, I am infintely impressed with the spring/summer 2012 collection by Simone Rocha. It includes two of my biggest fashion fetishes throughout: see-through clothing and non-traditional materials. It questions the role of clothing itself. Clothing is to cover? Not here. Clothing is made of cloth? Once more, guess again. However, not only does she appear to effortlessly incorporate such motifs into her collection, but plays clever tricks with them all along the way. Yes, you can see her nipples, but isn't it just so feminine and lady-like otherwise? Yes she's swathed in plastic but there's a delicate lace dress underneath too! So clever. I love it.

Oh, Arizona, letting me do whatever on earth I want with my wardrobe. One day it'll be bare legs and the next I can wear a blazer over a sweater. It is going to be a sad day when I actually have to start dressing for the weather!

Although I have not had much time to post about these outfits, I have been wearing ties quite a bit more than usual lately. I don't know what it is exactly but I do love the accessory. There just seems to be something inexplicably wonderful about them. The fancy ideas they entail. The irony of the fanciness being displayed on a woman. The character they never cease to add to an outfit. I love ties.

You know how clothes sometimes have that ability just to inspire a certain feel to not only your wardrobe that day but also your entire feel about life that day? Well, this shirt that I bought at Buffalo Exchange yesterday does exactly that with making me feel cool and laid back-- two qualities that describe me quite badly actually. At least these clothes let me pretend as long as I have them on that such a reality has the possibility of being true. Isn't it that kind of dress-up feeling that make clothes as great as they are?

It is such an old stylist gimmic, but I love black and white with one piece of color. I seem to do it constantly but I am positively addicted to the concept. Whether it be a bow or a pair of tights or in the case shoes, that unexpected pop of color in a sea of mundanity (other than the mix of prints) is always just so fun!

The Phoenix valley is finally starting to reward its residents with the fruits of its heat. Lately, this little valley of the sun has only existed in the uncomfortable extremes of melting heat and freezing, bone-rattling frigitity. However, this week has been simply perfect, fluctuating between the sixties and low seventies. I am able to go outside for extended periods of time in bare legs! Thank you Phoenix for finally giving people the reason why they live here!
