Big Bows Stuck on Small Hair

Goodness I love this bow from Modcloth. I remember I admired it for months before I actually bought it, not being able to bring myself to spend so much (around $20) on a simple bow, depsite its lovely, rediculous size. Eventually I had saved up around that much and decided I might as well. And oh! how I have loved it since, worth every penny. It is both pretty and, to a degree, cleverly comic. It is the perfect hair accessory for any outfit and never fails to add a certain edge to any outfit.

As the Weather Cools

Well, the weather hanging over this little Arizona valley has finally decided to be reasonable and recognize that it is indeed November and not August. It is no longer oven-like and is perhaps even a little chilly at times other than just the early morning and the soft night. I can wear tights without misery and sweaters are even a tad necessary. Despite loving the heat with all my might, the chill is certainly welcome, allowing myself to create a little more complex outfits!

Di-Chromatic Fun

Isn't there something just so alluring about a clever little mixture of no more than two colors (in this case black and white) topped off by a little accent of a third here and there (red hair with red lipstick). Perhaps it is the deceptive simplicity that comes with minimal color accompanied by a muriad of prints for the eye to entertain itself with. Either way, there's just something special about a black and white print that will always draw me to it.

Returning

I know I have not blogged in what feels like years and I am sorry! I have missed it! Last week I had a dance concert which took up all my previously free time and then the computer went out of commission for a while. Since then, as you can see, I have cut and dyed my hair. Personally, I quite like it!

Wrapped in Sky Blue Like a Cloud

Have I ever mentioned how much I love this dress? It was one of the first things I bought while I was in France. It was at a farmer's market type thing in Cap Ferret called "Le Marche" or "the market." It's color is fabulous. It's blue in some light and a strange white in others. It's the perfect length and the perfect shape to give me the Twiggy-esque look I'm consistently obsessed with. It has a wonderful neckline and wonderful sleeves with just the right amount of simplistic adornment up the side with five small whtie buttons. Simply put, I love this dress to death.

The Life that Lives Between the Knit of a Sweater

I realize that I have worn this sweater every other outfit post since I got it (although I assure you it isn't really that often in real life). This sweater just seems to inevitably lead to better days.

French Braids

Well, it's the time of year again where I spend the ends of my days romping around a stage as gracefully as I can while the dull, behind the scenes speceficities take shape. Last week we worked out the lighting, yesterday and today we ran the show with tech, and Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week we'll be doing dress rehearsal just before the true magic of the dance concert on Thurseday. I am required to torture my little bob into the shabbiest french braid on earth for these rehearsals out of "tradition," exposing my rediculous five-head in the process. Next week, obnoxious stage make-up will be thrown into the whole mix. If I ever find time to do an outfit post next week, I will most certainly look like a mess!

The Decay of History

I know it's completely impossible to see in these pictures, but that big reflective circle on my sweater is a button I made of Thomas Jefferson. Surprisingly, I was asked probably about ten times who it was, saying they only know the dead president's faces through currency. Oh my.

Trick Or Treating

Here are a couple shots of my Halloween Costume this year. My last year trick or treating perhaps?

The Denoument of Disease

Well, I've finally reached the tail-end of my cold. This was certianly no week to get one what with Halloween and babysitting and homework and two three hour tech rehearsals for my upcoming dance concert (November 17th, 7pm, Chandler Center for the Arts if you're in the area). It was one of the most miserable colds I've had in a long time due to all the physical exhaustion of dance (I also think I have shin splints on top of everything). Thankfully, however, I stayed home from school yesterday for the first time in I think four years and got much better!

Malade

Yesterday I woke up with a bit of a soar throat but a determination not to let it ruin my favorite holiday. I proceeded to go trick or treating for a few hours last night and made it worse. My nose and throat are now miserably unhappy and yet I continue to stuff myself with candy and make it all worse! I suppose the lazy, sick look works well for me, though, because a lot of my friends commented on how cute I looked today and a random boy I've never met said I looked "wonderful," a compliment I have never before recieved!
